Khoirunnisa, or better known as Nissa Sabyan, is an Indonesian singer.

As the vocalist for the group band Sabyan Gambus, Nissa is publicly known for her songs, and most often, her cover songs for Islamic nuances and salawat for the prophet of Islam.

For more than many times, Nissa and her clips are viral on YouTube, with many have been watched by millions of times, as they trend on the Google-owned video-streaming platform.

This time, she made headlines in Indonesia, not because of her songs, but because of her Affair with the band's keyboardist, Ahmad Fairuz (Ayus).

This issue shocked the public and was widely reported to Ririe Fairus, Ayus' wife.

Knowing that Ayus had an extramarital affair with Nissa, Ririe went to the North Jakarta Religious Court to divorce Ayus.

It was on February 21, 2021, that Ayus made a 30-second video statement to apologizing for his mistakes.

Nissa on the other hand, the woman who was born in 1999 remained quiet.

Since she made headlines because of having an affair with a married man, who is no other than her own band member, she was nowhere to be found.

It all started as a rumor, started from a post on Instagram by mak_nyinyir. The post shared a screenshot of an Instagram Direct Message claiming to be from the cousin of Ayus' wife.

People began to think that issue was more than just a rumor, after seeing posts from Ririe that suggested things weren't looking good between her and Ayus,

"There will be a heart that will always love you even though you've been hurt many times", read the message.

Ririe was married to Ayus on October 13, 2012. From that marriage, they have two children.

Agus Abdullah, Public Relations for the North Jakarta Religious Court, explained that Ayus and Ririe have not lived together since January 2021.

Sabyan Gambus was founded by the band members, originally to singing in weddings.

Some of the band's most popular songs, include Ya Maulana, Deen Assalam, Ya Jamalu, Law Kana Bainanal Habib, Ya Habibal Qolbi, Rahman ya Rahman, Ya Asyiqol Musthofa, Ahmad Ya Habibi, Ya Taiba, Qomarun, Assalamualaika ya Rasulullah, and others.

The band consists of several former Islamic boarding school students, who live in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

As for Nissa, she was born in Lumajang, before spending most of her younger years in Bandung, West Java, before moving to Jakarta.

Nissa wanted to study in the music major, but instead put more focus on the band.

Nissa remained quiet most of the time when her news were viral.

When Ayus admitted the affair, Nissa was nowhere to be heard. She didn't provide any clarification after her name was mentioned as the perpetrator.

Then one day, all of a sudden, she broke her silence by promoting her new single, which was written by Ayus.

Quickly, the Instagram post became a breeding ground, and also a battle ground for both of her haters and fans.

Besides being a celebrity, Nissa's affair grabbed Indonesia's headlines also because her in portraying Islam through her songs, in which she also indirectly became a role model for young Muslim women in Indonesia.

And Islam is a religion that condemns affairs and extramarital affairs.

One another thing, Indonesians are also sensitive to the term pelakor (perebut lelaki orang, or one who steals another’s man). And many people think that Nissa is the pelakor that ruins someone's family, coming between Ayus and Ririe.

One good example of this, was when Indonesian netizens bombarded Korean actress Han So Hee, because of her pelakor role on “The World of the Married” K-drama.

In the drama, Han So Hee starred as a pilates instructor Yeo Da Kyung, an only child born to a wealthy family.

She has an affair with the main character Lee Tae Oh (starred by Park Hae Joon) and comes in between him and his wife Ji Sun Woo (starred by Kim Hee Ae).

Following the viral news, hashtags like #NissaSabyan and #nissasabyanpelakor went trending on Twitter.
