Portland Metro Report: February 2018

The Zumper Portland Metro Report analyzed active listings in January across 13 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Oregon state median Rent last month was $1,024.

Cities Ranked By Rent

The Most Expensive

–Portland, OR remained the most expensive city in the metro with one bedrooms priced at $1,330.

–Gladstone, OR moved 2 spots to rank as the second priciest city with rent at $1,250.

–Happy Valley & Tualatin, OR tied for third both with prices at $1,240.

The Least Expensive

–Forest Grove, OR continued to rank as the most affordable city with rent at $890.

–Oregon City, OR, only $80 more at $970, was the second least expensive city.

– Gresham & Tigard, OR tied for third with rents at an even $1,000.

Growth Rate

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

–Gladstone, OR rent had the largest year over year growth rate, climbing 13.6%.

–Oregon City, OR was second with one bedrooms growing 9%.

–Happy Valley, OR followed closely behind as third with rent up 8.8%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

–Tualatin, OR had the fastest growing rent last month, jumping 5.1%.

–Gladstone, OR also had a large monthly rental growth rate, up 5%.
