Iron Mountain, MI – Woman Killed in Fatal Fire on East H St

Iron Mountain, MI (May 20, 2024) – A woman lost her life as a result of a fatal fire that occurred on Friday in Iron Mountain. The incident was reported at around 10:50 p.m. on May 17.

According to area news sources, a 10-unit apartment building located on 600 block East H Street caught on fire during the evening hours. The Iron Mountain Fire Department responded to the scene and immediately began battling the blaze. Firefighters worked extensively to take control of the situation. However, a 46-year-old woman at the location sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased by authorities. Multiple victims were injured as a result of the incident. Those who required further medical care were transported to area hospitals. At this time, investigations into the fire are underway.
