Detroit, MI (October 5, 2023) – On Thursday evening, an SUV crashed into a fallen tree on the east side of Detroit, gravely injuring three individuals.

A black Dodge Durango, according to the police, crashed into a downed tree on Seymour Street between Chalmers and Hayes around 10:00 p.m. The authorities believe that high speeds contributed to the Durango’s collision with the tree.

The driver fled the scene as two women and a man were taken to the hospital. One of the women suffered critical injuries while the other two victims remain in serious condition at the hospital.

The tree fell down earlier that night, per authorities. Anyone with knowledge was encouraged to contact the Detroit PD. The inquiry is still under progress.
