Detroit, MI – Several Hurt in Truck Rollover on I-96 at M-39

Detroit, MI (September 27, 2023) – On Wednesday morning, a semi-truck crashed and rolled on a roadway in the Metro Detroit area, causing several injuries.

According to the Michigan State Police, the incident occurred shortly before noon on the west side of Detroit when a driver allegedly attempted to enter into the left lanes of westbound I-96 at M-39.

The sedan’s driver “tried to beat the semi in the right lane from the shoulder,” per an MSP statement. After the impact between the truck and the sedan, the sedan turned over and slammed into another vehicle, which had also rolled.

Both vehicles’ occupants were brought to the hospital, where their conditions were reported as stable, as stated by authorities. The number of those involved was unclear. The accident forced the closure of the highway for several hours as MSP examined the scene.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured and loved ones at this time.

Car Accident Injuries in Detroit

Prioritizing your physical and emotional well-being is crucial after an accident in the Great Lakes State with another car or many other vehicles. After a vehicle collision, you should contact 911 and get medical help right away, even if you don’t think you’re hurt. Following that, you will need to discuss your injuries with a licensed medical practitioner.

But it might take hours or even days for the full degree of injuries sustained in a car collision to become apparent. As a result, you should get medical help as soon as you can to determine the baseline for your injuries.

Additionally, you should share information with other drivers or commuters at the accident scene in order to safeguard your future legal rights. Getting the other driver’s complete name, contact information and insurance details is standard procedure.

The local authorities frequently check the extent of any damage at the site, question any witnesses, and search the cars for evidence. To help them figure out what caused a lot of these crashes, the police also send in accident investigators.

As such, it is advisable to take your own pictures and films at the site of the accident. Take pictures of the accident site, making sure to capture the cars involved as well as any tire traces, debris, or damaged property. Pay special attention to the road conditions, weather, and any other information that may shed light on the cause of the crash.
