In what has become an annual tradition, 32 Beazer employees signed up to run the Rock ‘n Roll marathon series, participating in the half marathon and 5k in April. Our friends and family ran and cheered alongside the route.

BEAZERfit

Our Nashville division welcomed employees from corporate HQ in Atlanta and as far away as Maryland and Houston. The corporate wellness team sponsored swag for participants under the BEAZERfit wellness initiative. Leading up to the race, socks, and shoe lights encouraged runners to “put your best foot forward” in training for the event.

5K Finishers

After the 5k runners finished, they headed to mile 9 of the half marathon route. There, they cheered on the other runners, including Ceo Allan Merrill and Chairman Emeritus Brian Beazer. Allan stopped for high fives and a quick photo-op before finishing the 13.1-mile race.

Rallying Around a Cause

The enthusiasm around the event gave momentum to our initiative to raise $50k for the Fisher House Foundation. The organization provides local no-cost housing for military and veterans’ families while their loved ones receive treatment at major military and VA medical centers. For over 25 years, the Fisher House program has provided “a home away from home” for these families. Many homes are in the same communities we serve across the country. We’re proud to support them!

“Giving back to our communities is one of our highest corporate priorities – particularly where we can engage a large portion of our team in a fun and healthy event AND where we know that our efforts will make a difference,” said Beazer CEO Allan Merrill.

We’re still tallying generous donations from employees and our partners. So far, we’ve exceeded our goal with more than $52,000 raised!
