Tesla Model Y & Model 3 are popular choices for first-time EV buyers

A recent study found that the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 were the top choices for first-time electric vehicle (EV) buyers. Electric vehicle adoption is steadily gaining traction among mainstream consumers, especially in the United States, where the Inflation Reduction Act promotes EV production.

According to a study by Recurrent Auto, the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 were the top choices for consumers looking to transition from a fossil-fuel car to an electric vehicle. The study noted that the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y’s price tag, charging time, smart features, and Tesla’s Supercharger Network all contributed to a consumer’s decision to purchase a Model Y or Model 3.

“With near instantaneous acceleration and smooth, responsive handling, even a basic Tesla drives like a sports car. Robust autopilot features can help control the car, maintaining speed, managing turns, and keeping a safe distance from the car ahead of you. Teslas are also comfortable, with spacious interiors and plenty of storage space,”

“Most of the car’s features are controlled by the central touchscreen, giving the car a sleek, minimalistic feel. Everything is high-tech, and, thanks to over-the-air updates, there is a constant stream of new features. Teslas are some of the safest cars on the market, and drivers get access to the Tesla supercharger network with the most charging stations in the country. Drivers can sit back and enjoy movies and games on the Tesla’s infotainment screen while charging, not that they’ll need to wait long,” stated Recurrent’s study.

Even though the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 offered great features and capabilities, customers still had some criticism about their design. For instance, some drivers find the lack of an instrument cluster challenging. Some owners also mentioned that some of the new technology featured in Tesla vehicles were distracting at times. Tesla owners also criticized the suspension of Tesla Model 3 and Model Y units, stating that it was lacking and led to bumpy rides. There were also a few complaints regarding Tesla Autopilot since many new owners expect the software to be a fully self-driving system.

The study’s findings might not come as a surprise to abide Tesla fans who know the Model 3 and Model Y history. The Tesla Model 3 remains one of the top-selling electric vehicles worldwide, frequently topping sales lists in multiple countries. The Tesla Model Y followed the Model 3’s foot steps and is also making best-selling lists

Tesla believes the Model Y could become the best-selling vehicle in any category. The Model Y is already trending towards achieving that goal. It recently became the best-selling EV in Australia last month, beating Toyota RAV4 sales
