This is a Netflix Original and is a series for designers that profiles design elites that we’ve all idolized including Nike footwear designer Tinker Hatfield, and more. We feel this series gives a good in-depth look into computer design and modern contemporary design while bringing you behind the minds of some of the best of the best.
If You Build It
This inspiring documentary follows a group of high school students as they learn to design and construct a new building for their school. It’s a look into a radically different approach to education that completely shakes up the archaic system our kids grow up in today. Leading a fight against a change-resistant school board, the teachers lead their students in a year-long, design and build a project that teaches them much more than just construction. If you’re an industrial designer or an inventor, watch for this one!

Fresh Dressed
This documentary gives you a look on hip-hop culture. May seem odd for an inventor or industrial designer, but understand design phenomenon outside of just in the industrial atmosphere can be inspiring, and extremely educational. Fresh Dressed takes you into the history of this era of fashion and hip-hop for looks at the origins of trends like baggy pants, to sneakers. Including interviews with people like Kanye West.

What makes you happy? Truly, truly make you happy. This documentary answers that question by exploring different parts of the world, cultures and people to find out what really makes us happy? This will leave every inventor rethinking the way they design. What is it that we need? What is it that will change the way we think? What is it that will make us happy? If you’re an industrial designer or inventor, you always take these things into consideration but this takes a deeper dive into the mindset behind being happy.
