"Admittedly, Meghan Trainor is not my favourite artist. She is a little too bubble gum pop / High School Musical-esque for my taste. However I thought she deserved a mention in this post for her song content and the messages she portrays to young girls.
She sings about how you should embrace your natural figure and not strive to unrealistic celeb ideals, how she expects her one-day future husband to love and respect her modern career, plus she encourages young girls to stay true themselves and not let boys get too touchy-feely. It makes a pleasant change from the “work, work” sexy tunes that seem to be littering the radio waves at the moment."

It's such an uplifting song, I love the build-up and Shara Nelson's voice is ridiculous. It's the kind of record that could get you to the finish line of a marathon or be played at the end of the world. Zing!"

"It’s 1988, we’ve just run through fields from our coach stuck in heavy traffic to see the opening act at the Monsters of Rock festival in Donnington Park. Little known Guns N’ Roses came on stage and blew us all away with Sweet Child O’ Mine a standout song as well as Welcome to the Jungle.
Fast forward almost 28 years. Izzy my six year old daughter and I will often be seen (and sometimes heard) driving around Cardiff singing along to Sweet Child O’ Mine in our car. We’ve claimed it as our song and the lyrics have a special meaning to us."
