Keeping Business In Michigan

What’s up for this year? I’m finishing my CD finally, and I’m looking forward of course to playing for some great people as I gig around playing receptions and parties. Made it through 2015 without any serious injury or illness causing show cancellations. So that’s a blessing. Contemplated moving out of Michigan the past couple of years as the local economy has been rough to say the least. Ultimately, now with a family rooted in our West Bloomfield area and school system, we’re not going anywhere far at least until the kids are off to college anyway.

Michigan has special meaning to me. I grew up here obviously, and have many friends in the metro area. But Detroit has a music vibe all its own too which needs to stay alive. Some big artists have come from Detroit. While Eugene Pallisco is no big name, I feel a kinship that many Detroit musicians have. We as performers of a common genre see many of our fellow musicians around town. It’s important to support. As I said, we see each other in the music circuit and we pretty much mostly know each other and even catch drinks after a show together.

Eugene Pallisco 2016 Bash, Bloomfield Michigan

If I see a friend I know from out of town playing at one of the hot spots in the Detroit area, I’ll make an effort to go see them. This is how underground music gets around. It’s also how I get my name and business card out there to the patrons of the place that I’m playing. My website address “www.eugenepallisco.com” across the back of my keyboards and I’m thinking of having the domain printed right on the neck of one of my guitars. idk if anyone has done that, but I’ll talk to my tech about how the paint or inset might affect the feel between the frets.

Here’s one from the 2016 bash.
That’s all for tonight kiddies. Rock on! Catch up to me on Twitter.
