Your second home in the Northern Red Sea

Not many liveaboards have a reputation as well established as MY Whirlwind.

Since her maiden voyage from Rasheed to Sharm el-Sheikh in 2006 Whirlwind established as one of the best liveaboards in the Northern Red Sea and has kept the same high standards as part of the award-winning Tornado Marine fleet. She is a 5 star Red Sea diving liveaboard at affordable prices, with weekly departures in 2019 from May to October. (April to November in 2020) She is one of the most popular boats in the fleet, and it’s easy to see why.

From the moment you step onto her huge back platform, you can tell this liveaboard has been designed by divers for divers. Her long-standing crew are the definition of attentive and make the diving effortless.

Whirlwind is a generous 36m from bow to stern and at 8m across, there is ample space for all 20 guests. There are 10 cabins in total, all with twin beds, en suite, air con and safe. Fancy a view as you sail? There are 4 cabins on the Main Deck which are pre-allocated at the time of booking with no additional surcharge. On request for full charter bookings, an additional 11th twin cabin can be opened up.

Accommodation

Whirlwind has four main deck twin cabins, located in the front half of the main deck. These cabins have lovely big rectangular windows facing the ocean. All cabins onboard Whirlwind have twin beds, en suite, air con and safe. There is no surcharge for the main deck cabins.

On the lower deck, there are seven cabins. These are slightly larger than the main deck ones and have a port whole window. All cabins onboard Whirlwind have twin beds, en suite, air con and safe.

Relaxing onboard

On the main deck, you can find the dining area. here is where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served. The separate small tables are an excellent way to encouraging socializing with everyone onboard.

On the top deck, you will find the saloon with the bar and a big TV. is here where most of the briefings will take place before the dives. The doors will open to an open seating area. These spaces are excellent to relax between dives.

The top-level is the flight deck, this is your place if you like to sunbathe.

Diving from Whirlwind

Whirlwind is an ideal platform to dive from. the dive deck offers generous space to kit up as well as a camera table with an airgun for photographers. Once you set your equipment on the first day, you do not have to take it apart. Your cylinder will be filled On-site by the engineer after each dive. You will have a crate to store all your equipment and plenty of space to hang your suit.

A few steps down will take you to the huge platform. this area is enough for all the divers onboard to stand, ready to jump on those occasions when group entry is needed.

It’s no wonder so many of our specialist itinerary leaders ask for Whirlwind year after year. Whirlwind runs photography workshops, escorted wreck weeks, dedicated freediving trips and our custom Red Sea Relaxed itinerary throughout the year. Rebreather divers can be accommodated, but please speak to your consultant at the time of booking to discuss any specific guiding, kit hire and fill requirements.

There are still a few spaces left on the fantastic Get Wreck tour this 17th of August. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity.
