It looks like the luck of the Irish got some help with a whole lot of hard work, focused determination and some players that decided to play out their careers at the college level.  Wtih 12-0 season, ND is the top ranked team with a bunch of highly recognized stars that will get their chance to put their names permanently in the College Football Hall of Fame, located in their home town of South Bend, Indiana.

Just this week, Coach Brian Kelly was received the Home Depot Coach of the Year Award, Manti Te'o was given the Bronko Nagurski Best Defensive Player Award and Tyler Eifert was recognized with the John Mackey Best Tight End Award.  Later this week, Manti Te'o could even get the Heisman Trophy to add to his collection of medals and certificates.

They still have to make it through Alabama to get the AFCA National Championship Trophy, but even if they don't, it will be a remarkable year.  The Leprechaun hasn't danced so lightly in over a decade.  ND couldn't have scripted it better.  An Irishman name Kelly comes in and turns the ND football program on its head.  He as the look of a leprechaun but nothing of the character.  Kelly doesn't mend any shoes or make practical jokes.  The only jokes he has are the ones he has played on his opponents all this year.
