Odisha train mishap: Several trains cancelled, diverted, check the list here

New Delhi: Following a horrific tragedy in Odisha’s Balasore in which three trains crashed, killing more than 300 people and injured over 1000, several trains have been canceled or diverted.

List of trains that have been canceled:

18044 Bhadrak – Howrah Express from Bhadrak

20890 Tirupati-Howrah Express from Tirupati

12551 Bangalore – Kamakhya AC SF Express from Bangalore

12864 Bangalore – Howrah Express from Bangalore

12253 Bangalore – Bhagalpur Anga Express

08411 Balasore -Bhubaneswar special from Balasore

08415/08416 Jenapur-Puri-Jenapur from both the direction

08439( Puri-Patna special from Puri)

List of diverted trains:

On June 2, 2023, the 12246 Bangalore-Howrah Express will depart from Bangalore via Naraj-Angul-Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda, while the 12503 On June 2, 2023, the Bangalore-Agartala Express would depart from Bangalore through Vizianagaram-Titilagarh-Jharsuguda, a distance of 12864 kilometres. On June 2, 2023, the Bangalore-Howrah Express will depart from Bangalore via Naraj-Angul-Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda, 18048 km. On June 2, 2023, Vascoda Gama-Shalimar will travel from Vascoda Gama via Cuttack-Angul-Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda, 15630 km. On June 2, 2023, the Silghat Town-Tambaram Nagaon Express will depart Silghat Town via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur City-Angul-Cuttack, 07029 On June 2, 2023, an Agartala-Secunderabad special would depart Agartala via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur City-Angul-Cuttack, 12664. The Tiruchchirappalli-HWH Howrah Express would depart Tiruchchirappalli on June 2, 2023, via Vizianagaram-Titilagarh-Jharsuguda, according to a Kharagpur Division notice.

The 15630 Silghat-Tambram Express will run on a diverted route via Asansol-Chandil- Rourkela – Jharsuguda -Sambalpur City- Angul-Cuttack, the 07029 Agartala-Secunderabad Express will run on a diverted route via Bhattanagar – Kharagpur – Tatanagar -Jharsuguda-Sambal

Furthermore, on June 2, 2023, the 12704 Secunderabad-Howrah Express from Secunderabad will run up to Cuttack but will be cancelled from Cuttack to Howrah, while the 18046 Hyderabad-Shalimar East Coast Express from Hyderabad on June 3, 2023, would be delayed for 3 hours.

“Accident Relief trains with medical equipment and doctors have rushed to the site from Kharagpur and Bhadrak, the Kharagpur Division notification read.

“Around 600 injured passengers have been taken to the Hospitals of Gopalpur, Khantapara, Balasore, Bhadrak and Soro,” it stated.

They further added, “Two ARME (Medical Trains) have reached the site alongwith 20 Doctors and a team of Paramedics, who are attending to the injured passengers. More Doctors and a team of Paramedics are also on their way to the accident site.”

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the disaster site in Odisha’s Balasore on Saturday, taking stock of the situation and promising a thorough high-level investigation into the mishap.

After colliding with a cargo train, many coaches of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express derailed near Bahanaga station in Odisha’s Balasore district.The collision happened at 7 p.m. on Friday, according to Railway spokesperson Amitabh Sharma.
