KKBKKJ Flops! History repeating itself, Salman Khan’s long hair is a recipe for a disaster

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was hopeful to make a dashing comeback at the Box Office with his much-awaited Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. In fact, Salman Khan’s fans were expecting it to replicate Pathaan’s success.

However, one look at the advance ticket sales was enough to predict that things would likely not go too positively for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

The overcrowded movie sold mere 60k advanced tickets and collected 12 crores on day 1.

Aside from being a half-cooked remake, a tiresome storyline, and too many characters, if Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’s slow opening can be blamed on one thing it is Salman Khan’s long hair.

As farcical as it sounds, it is historically evident that Salman Khan has failed to impress at Box Office whenever the actor keeps his hair long.

6 out of 7 movies, in which Salman Khan sported a long mane, failed to perform well at the box office. Let’s briefly look at each of these films

1. Sooryavanshi

This was the first time Salman Khan experimented with long hair, and we believe it should have been the last. In the 1992 film Suryavanshi, Bhaijaan appeared in a long blond hairstyle. Salman Khan’s only horror film earned only 1.5 cr at the box office.

2. Sawan

This 2006 film surprises many. Not because it was something exceptional but because it amazes us that despite being a Salman Khan movie, no one knows when it came and where it went. Perhaps the culprit was again Bhaijaan’s long hair.

This 2006 film collected only 3.47 crore in the domestic market.

3. London Dreams

Salman Khan’s long and once again, blonde hair resulted in a box-office disaster in 2009. So much so that even Ajay Devgan being a co-star couldn’t save this film. The movie made with a budget of Rs. 63 crores only collected Rs. 26 crores in return.

4. Veer

Salman Khan not only introduced a long mane but also Katrina Kaif’s doppelganger Zareen Khan. Do we need to elaborate more? Both fumbled at the box office.

Although, we can say that at least it was able to recover the making cost of rs. 48 crores.

5. Antim: The Final Truth

Antim should have been Salman Khan’s ‘Antim’ long hair film. However the star opted for the long mane yet another time in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and the verdict is very predictable.

Is Tere Naam an exception?

While many believe that Tere Naam is an exception to the long hair flop formula, we beg to differ. In Tere Naam, while Salman Khan’s hair is longer than usual, it still does not qualify for what we consider a long mane.
