New Delhi: ‘Soul of Varisu’, a much-awaited Song from Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Varisu’. The song is based on the theme of a mother-son relationship and the makers have released a lyrical video of the same. The song is composed by S Thaman and sung by popular Tamil singer Chitra. The lyrics of the song are penned by Vivek.

‘Soul of Varisu’ brings out the perspective of a mother, when she sees her son coming back after a long time. The lyrical video also has some visuals of Vijay and Jayasudha, who plays his mother in the film. The song has confirmed the rumours about the plot of the film, which is speculated to be the story of a man who returns to his mother to take deal with the problems at home. The film is known to revolve around the unexpected death of the protagonist’s foster father.

The first song from the film, ‘Ranjithame’, was a peppy folk fusion number, while the second one was a classic Vijay-style massy song that introduces the protagonist. However, ‘Soul of Varisu’ is a contract to the first two songs and is a slow-paced melodious song led by Chitra’s vocals.

Vijay’s highly anticipated film ‘Varisu’ is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and stars Jayasudha, Rashmika Mandanna, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Karthick, S.J. Suryah and Yogi Babu. ‘Varisu’ is written by Vamshi, Hari and Ahishor Solomon, while the dialogues are penned by Vivek and Srinivas Chakravarthi. The film will release on January 12.
