Sri Ram Chandra airport to come up in Ayodhya, Yogi govt earmarks Rs 200 crore

New Delhi: Yogi Adityanath government has zeroed in on Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, for its all-round development. Not just ramping up infrastructure, the state govt has its eyes firmly fixed on developing an airport named after Lord Ram.

The work of proposed Sri Ramchandra Airport is progressing rapidly. The budget has been approved while land acquisition is in advance stages.

The total budget of Sri Ramchandra Airport is around 640 crores. Yogi government has already earmarked Rs 200 crore for the project. A total of 464 acres of land is all required for this huge project, of which 177 acres have been acquired. The remaining 287 acres of land will soon be acquired.

The government had made budget allotment for this project in December, 2018. This was announced by UP CM Yogi Adiyanath in Ayodhya during Diwali celebrations.

After changing the name of Faizabad district to Ayodhya, Yogi Adityanath had announced to build an airport in the name of Lord Shri Ram, a medical college in the name of King Dasharatha. The UP CM also announced to build an old age home (Ashram) in the name of Kaushalya.
