Shivpal Yadav floats Samajwadi Secular Morcha, asks SP members to join him

New Delhi: Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother Shivpal Yadav has decided to float a new outfit named Samajwadi Secular Morcha for challenging his nephew and former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in the state.

Shivpal’s move comes a year after Akhilesh wrested control of the Samajwadi Party and was sulking for sometime for not getting role in the party.

“I have formed Samajwadi Secular Morcha. I was neglected in the Samajwadi Party and waited for two years. I was neither informed nor invited in party programmes and no resposbility was given to me,” Shivpal, uncle of SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav, told reporters at his residence.

The ‘disgruntled uncle’ also invited his fellow Samajwadi party leaders to join him, who feel sidelined and ignored in the party.

“I am not being given any work, so we have decided to form Samajwadi Secular Morcha. I waited this long because I wanted the Samajwadi Party to stay united. I welcome anyone who is being sidelined in the party,” Shivpal said.

Asked whether SP founder and his brother Mulayam Singh Yadav will be part of the Morcha, Shivpal said, “We will give him due honour and ask others also to do the same.”
Recently at a public meeting, SP founder Mulayam Singh expressed his pain of not being given respect in the party.

“While one is alive, no one gets respect. May be after death he earns respect,” Mulayam said.
