On the Hunt for the Best of Perth’s Nightlife? Check Out These Spots!

Are you planning your weekend out in Perth, but you’re not sure where to go? There are plenty of things to do in Perth at night, you just need to know where to find them. The city is full of quirky bars, upbeat and affordable restaurants, and exciting nightclubs – read on if you want to know where to find the best spots around.

Cool Spots for a Tasty Dinner

Pinchos Bar De Tapas

A classic Venue in Leederville, this tapas bar is a great place to start your evening. They serve authentic Spanish share plates and snacks, which you can enjoy with a nice glass of Spanish wine. Relax and have a chat with mates at this intimate, casual venue with sunny street-side seating.

Francoforte Spaghetti Bar

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Northbridge. They are the epitome of focusing on one thing and doing it well – in this case that’s spaghetti. It’s a bustling venue down a small alleyway, with a great vibe, red wine served in authentic Italian jugs, and endless delicious spaghetti options.

La Cabaña – Bar and Taqueria

Down in South Freo, this bar and restaurant is always packed. It has vibrant, colourful decor, and fresh, tasty coastal Mexican food that you can eat outside in their sunny courtyard. The raw beef tostada is a local favourite, as well as the freshly shucked oysters – perfect to have with one of their famous margaritas!

Where to Go For Drinks

Sneaky Tony’s

This is Northbridge’s ultimate hidden bar, as the location isn’t on Google maps, so you have to already know where it is – and you have to know the password to get in! When you do get inside, it’s worth it – a dimly lit speakeasy rum bar where you can while away many hours and try endless types of rum.

Shadow Wine Bar

Are you a fan of good wine and fancy vibes? Shadow Wine Bar offers a classic European feeling, an impressive wine list, and an escape from the hectic streets of Northbridge. They are open from 12 midday to late at night, so you can have a classy glass of wine in the afternoon, or settle in for a few in the evening.

Jungle Bird

This Caribbean-style beach bar is a place to go for guaranteed good times in Fremantle. You can enjoy a cosy yet colourful interior, and an endless range of cocktails, from the Sunday Bloody Mary to the Jamaican Rum Punch. It’s a people-pleasing venue – whether you want a chilled vibe on a sunny afternoon, or to slide into one of the booths with your mates on a Friday and work your way through the cocktail menu.

How to Find the Live Music

Clancy’s Fish Pub Fremantle

Clancy’s is a classic Freo live music venue, with a casual pub vibe, delicious seafood dishes, and a fully set up room for bands to play. They have gigs on nearly every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and even sometimes during the week, offering every type of music from Congolese dance beats to cowboy-style country music.

The Bird

This well-loved live music venue is located in Northbridge, and usually features rock bands and DJs on 5-7 nights a week. It has shabby-chic decor with second hand furniture and exposed-brick walls, and the vibe is distinctly artsy. They serve quality cocktails, and have a large beer garden out the back for when you feel like a conversation and a sit down.

The Aardvark

The Aardvark is a dive bar in Fremantle, located in the basement of the Norfolk Hotel – showcasing a variety of local musical talent. It’s recommended to just have a look through their gig list, as there’s no set genre of music that they prefer. Just like the other venues in the Norfolk, they have great spirits and cocktails, and a bustling, upbeat atmosphere.

The Best Places to Go Dancing

Jack Rabbit Slims

One of the most popular places in Northbridge for a night out is Jack Rabbit Slims – it’s named after the restaurant in Pulp Fiction, and is a huge venue that hosts many epic gigs. There’s also a separate room with a 50’s style diner and a lounge area with retro couches – for when you need a rest from all the dancing!

Lucy’s Love Shack

A reasonably new addition to the nightclub scene in Perth, Lucy’s Love Shack is a haven for lovers of rock, punk, and heavy metal. It’s a cool, grungy spot that’s open until 5am – making it the perfect place to dance the night away. They even serve late night New York style pizzas to fuel you until the early hours.

Badlands Bar

This huge, unpretentious live music venue is split into three sections – a massive, festival-style beer garden, a main gig room, and a smaller gig room. With the large size of these spaces, it’s the ideal place to let loose dancing with your mates – and they host a range of local, national and international bands.

The Best Way to Get Around the City

If you want to have the ultimate city lifestyle – eating at the best spots across the city and hitting up live music venues and clubs later on – then you’ll need a car that can match the pace. The new Peugeot 308 is a swift, agile, and comfortable car, that’s perfect for nipping through tight city streets and carting a few of your friends to the next hip location. If you’re the designated driver, you’ll want to be doing it in style, and the new Peugeot 308 can deliver.
