Free Floor Plans

So the good news is here, new pricing. On August 2nd, we released a free floor plan product in the United States, and lower pricing for all our products, globally. And even better news is on the way: a volume-based discount plan will be launched very soon. Basically the more you scan (including the free floor plans) the greater the discount. 

How can it help the Real Estate Photographer?

You might be asking yourself how to leverage these changes to make more money as a real estate photographer… Let’s take a look at a few ideas. 

First, make sure your clients know you can supply floor plans.. If your realtors don’t know you offer floor plans they may never ask for them. Please don’t assume that they know just because it’s tucked away in an order form or on a web page. Here’s how you can market floor plans to realtors:

• Shout it from the mountain top
• Send a notification to your realtors
• Offer an incentive for realtors to try it (once they see it they will love it)
• Highlight plans on your website
• Use social media to share stats that showcase the benefits

Bundle your floor plans

Another very popular option is to bundle floor plans with real estate photography so that every order gets a floor plan included. This is super easy if you are relatively new. If you have been around a while you can introduce it as a new product offering.

Volume Strategy

You can also increase your bottom line by going after volume. For instance if you sell on average 10 floor plans a month at $100 that’s $1000 gross.  However, a simple change in your approach –  25 floor plans at $50 is $1250. 

The addition of a free floor plan option has given us a new and unique opportunity as well:  include the free floor plan with every listing at no charge, and charge for the upgraded version with the addition of fixed furniture. Even if the client doesn’t want to upgrade,  still providing great value by giving your client a tool showcasing the layout of the property with room dimensions, just without bells and whistles. 

Floor plans make a difference

Floor plans make a big difference when marketing a property for sale. I’ve said this before but when we moved to NC we had one day to find a house. If a home didn’t have a floor plan it was eliminated from contention because we didn’t have time to waste.

Making sure that your realtors have the best products within their marketing kit is essential. I know many of us photographers aren’t the greatest salespeople, but is it really sales when you are offering a product that consumers need?! (Rhetorical)

Tell the world about floor plans

So, talk about it, show it. Give a few away at a discounted rate to help your realtors experience the value. You are already there doing the photography work this add-on can help increase the bottom line of your business. Tammy and I are always here to help if you need it.
