The China Industry Information and Development Center (CCID) under the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published the December update of its Global Public Blockchain Technology Assessment Index (GPBTAI).
The study concludes that EOS is the best cryptocurrency on the world market with a high enough Rating to hold in first place in several issues of this rating.
According to the official press release, “EOS topped the list with a total score of 156.1 points,”significantly improving the previous figures for the past few months.
The methodology used for the assessment is not fully disclosed, but it is known that the final assessment is the result of combining three components that assess the technological aspect, the potential for use in everyday life and the level of innovation that each development has.
The results showed interesting changes from previous months. Ethereum remains in second position, and Bitcoin takes 18th place:
EOS topped the list with a total score of 156.1 points. The second place was taken by Ethereum with the indicator 136.4. These two cryptocurrencies still lead. GXchain replaced BitShares in third place with a score of 117.5, while BitShare dropped five points in the current rating, finishing in eighth place.Komodo, Ontology, NULS, Nebulas, BitShares, NEO and Steem shared fourth-tenth places. Bitcoin score index remained in the middle of the list with a score of 96.1, ranking 18th.
The ranking also evaluated the most popular consensus algorithms in proven cryptocurrencies.
According to the rating, there is not a single cryptocurrency that would succeed in everything:
- In technology, the top five are EOS, BitShare, Steem, GXChain and Ontology.
- In the field of applications, the top five are Ethereum, NEO, Ontology, Nebulas and Qtum.
- In the field of innovations, Bitcoin, EOS, Ethereum, Komodo and Cardano are in the top five.
