The Guelph man who allegedly armed himself with kitchen knives have been arrested. He has been accused of assaulting a woman at her home amidst a asocial gathering, and afterwards hid in the basement for more than an hour before the police arrested him.

The officers received a call to a house near Silvercreek Parkway North near Westwood Road at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon investigation, the police found out that the woman tenant had been assaulted multiple times by the visitor who allegedly armed himself with kitchen knives during the incident.

The man hid in the basement and surrendered upon the arrival of the officers. The 34-yearold has been charged with uttering death threats, assault, possessing a prohibiting weapon, possessing a controlled substance and breaching court orders.
