Navjot Sidhu interacts with BSF women at Indo-Pak border

Amritsar, March 8, 2018: Saluting their commitment and acknowledging their success, Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu reached the Indo-Pak Border fence to celebrate Women’s Day with brave hearts guarding the borders.

The Punjab Minister, who went to the fence at Border Out Post, Pul Moran, met the women constables of the Border Security Force and lauded their effort.

Sidhu, who said that these BSF constables were perfect role models said, ” These girls are the pride of the Nation. On Women’s Day, I salute them and  the way they do their duty with top commitment also ensures that our borders are in safe hands.”

The Minister who interacted with the Bsf Women soldiers  and also asked about their inspirations, said that these girls are facing all the challenges and facing the barrel. They are the top example of women empowerment and are capable enough to give a strong reply to any mischief by enemy at the Border.

As the Bsf Women Constables even shot down Pakistani smugglers in the past and are also capable enough for combat duties, Sidhu said, “My sister Simran was in Amritsar some time back and she told me that the two BSF girls who lead the retreat ceremony in the evening is great and finest memory she will ever have of the Border. So I decided to meet these brave girls and salute them on this Women’s Day. Being here gives me great satisfaction and I am inspired by the courage of these girls.”

Sidhu said that these brave hearts come from all over the country and face all tough conditions to serve the Nation. They could have chosen any career but these girls chose the toughest one and they perform their duty  it with top commitment. They are our pride and we must take lot of inspiration from them.

Sharing with the BSF Women constables, Sidhu said, “Today whatever I am is just because of teachings of my mother, blessings of my sister and support of my wife.”

The Punjab Minister, who was warmly welcomed by the BSF DIG JS Oberoi and other BSF officials, said that experience to be at the Border and among the courageous girls is amazing.

The BSF women constables also appreciated the gesture and said that it feels great when someone comes to meet them and salute their work.
