TORONTO — A 14-storey condo building in midtown Toronto was evacuated during the frigid overnight hours after Carbon Monoxide was detected.
Toronto Fire Capt. Adrian Ratushniak says crews were called to the building (on Merton St.) shortly after 1:30 a.m. after a carbon monoxide detector went off.
The gas was detected at the penthouse level and all tenants were removed from the building.
Five transit buses were called in to shelter residents on a night when it felt around minus-20 degree Celsius with the wind chill.
No injuries were reported and fire crews cleared the scene at around 5 a.m. (CP24)
