As we transition into a new season, we wanted to share with our Kahana Village ohana our new logo design. In partnership with a local designer, we believe this updated logo better reflects our beachfront West Maui location as well as the breathtaking sunsets and ocean views our guests have come to love.
A Quick Peek at the Design Process
Our team took several factors into consideration when creating the concept for this new logo. First and foremost, we wanted to convey the unique elements that make Kahana Village such a special place to stay in Maui. It was important that the logo be contemporary in design but also timeless so that it could be used for signage, merchandise, and other materials for years to come. There are a few key components that illustrate a story that we would like you to carry during your stay and beyond!
The Pineapple: A Symbol of Hawaii
This golden fruit has been a representation of paradise since the days of Old Hawaii and in the ensuing years, the pineapple has become a symbol of hospitality and welcome. As two values we hold dear here at Kahana Village, we strive to provide our guests with a tropical experience that is unlike any other.
The Sunset: Unique to the West Side
West Maui sunsets are truly something to behold. Every night, visitors and locals alike flock to west-side restaurants and beaches to enjoy the different shades of sunset that streak across the evening sky. It is a privilege that guests of Kahana Village can experience this famed wonder right in their “backyard” and the sunset element of our logo is a symbolic reminder of that.
The Beachfront: Our Key Visual Element
As an exclusively beachfront vacation rental property, our logo could not be complete without incorporating the sparkling shoreline in some way. Kahana Village’s location is unique in that, not only are we nestled between two world-famous beaches (Kaanapali Beach and Kapalua Bay Beach) but we also have our own private beachfront area where our residents can relax and enjoy the uninterrupted ocean view.
Nothing says “welcome to paradise” than enjoying a house-made Mai Tai paired with a sweet, juicy pineapple platter as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant colors. This new logo aims to capture that feeling in a way that is seemingly timeless.
