The primary role of real estate companies is the sale of properties to the public. They operate, in several parts of the nation, with majority based in – or operating key offices – in Lagos, Nigeria.

Over the years, in the course of interacting with prospective investors/buyers, I have consistently advised that they look for a real estate company that has certain key credentials.

Examples include a verifiable capacity to deliver to their customers’ satisfaction, backed by possession of authentic requisite approval from the government, as well as relevant professional bodies (e.g. NIESV – Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers) to handle real estate solutions provision.

Verification of the above must be taken very seriously – or you risk losing out by dealing with dishonest, or incompetent persons.
