Factors You Need to Investigate Before Making Any Commitments to Purchase Landed Property

It is a well known fact, backed by established laws of the land, that anybody of land which falls under the committed acquisition area of Lagos State, must be subjected to regularization (aka ratification) failing which the owner of that piece of land risks facing the wrath of the law.

Quite often, many people in their eagerness and anxiety to buy fail to take the needed due diligence steps to Investigate the land of interest. Instead they simply go ahead to strike deals with “Omo-Onile” and by so doing get themselves into big trouble.

Some of those who fall into this trap are those who desperately desire to own land that is sandy, dry, close to the road etc. They go all out to get it, forgetting that, those considerations they put a priority on are not the most important factors to consider, when buying Property.

For instance, they forget or neglect to place key priority on establishing the actual status of the land in question. This – that is the status – happens to be the very first step to take in acquiring property – especially the kind that is “landed”.
