Leadfeeder’s MailChimp integration uncovers real people on your website

MailChimp is an industry-leading Email marketing tool. By connecting it to Leadfeeder you can see what individuals do on your website when they click through from one of your Mailchimp email campaigns. It’s that amazingly simple. This article explains how to get started and what to expect to see in Leadfeeder.

NEW: People Timeline turns MailChimp into powerful sales tool

Sign up to Leadfeeder and MailChimp for free

The happy news if you’ve never tried MailChimp or Leadfeeder is that it’s free to get started – and there’s no long-term commitment required.

You can sign up without a credit card for the 30-day free trial of Leadfeeder Premium right here and you can test out MailChimp for nothing here if you’ve got fewer than 2,000 email contacts.

If you’re already using Leadfeeder and MailChimp you’ll want to see how easy it is to connect MailChimp and start seeing people in your lead list, so let’s jump straight in without further ado.

Connect MailChimp to see what individuals do on your website

To connect and start seeing this enormously valuable information log in to Leadfeeder and make sure you’re using Premium.

Connecting MailChimp to Leadfeeder takes less than 1 minute to achieve by following the steps below:

STEP 1 From the home screen of the Leadfeeder web app click your name > settings in the top right, like so:

You’ll be taken to a view like this:

STEP 2 Where the arrow is pointing you should select the website you want to integrate. In this example, I’ve selected Leadfeeder Blog:

STEP 3 Now click Integrations or Mailchimp Integration (it doesn’t matter which).

STEP 4 If you clicked Mailchimp Integration you will see the following screen. Click the blue button Connect with MailChimp

NOTE: If you clicked Integrations at Step 3 you will see the following screen. Click Connect Email Marketing, the lower blue button:

STEP 5 Next enter your MailChimp API key in the box and click continue. It takes only seconds to get you API key from Mailchimp and everything’s clearly explained in the screen below.

And that’s you done!

The time it takes to sync your data depends on the number of MailChimp users you have and for the first sync it may take up to 9 minutes.

While it’s loading you can just head back to Leadfeeder and continue whatever you were doing.

New auto-added feed shows you all MailChimp traffic

After you’ve connected to MailChimp a new feed will automatically appear in Leadfeeder called Mailchimp visitors. All you have to do is open this feed to see all visits to your website via MailChimp.

Here’s how the home screen of Leadfeeder will look with the new feed. We strongly recommend clicking Edit notifications and subscribing to daily or weekly email alerts so you get automatically notified whenever a person visits your website via one of your email marketing campaigns.

When you open your MailChimp feed (or another feed with MailChimp traffic) you will be able to see precisely who has done what – and when – on your website.

In the above view you can see a list of leads (companies) and colourful initials representing people who’ve clicked through to your website from a MailChimp campaign.

By hovering your mouse over the letters you can see the name and email address of a person who clicked through to your website via one of your email campaigns in MailChimp.

To see what that person did just click on the lead and the visit details show on the right side.

For each person we see the email address and for many we see both name and email address.

A new sales and marketing tool stack

With this integration your business can create a seamlessly integrated sales and marketing tool stack that includes email marketing from MailChimp, lead generation from Leadfeeder and CRM from Pipedrive, an attractive package for any startup.
