Hello December! The most wonderful time of the year is almost here!

The Recruitment Branding Team is already getting into the cheerful winter holiday spirit. And because we love Throwback Thursday, we’ve challenged each team member to share a blast from the past that best reminds them of their childhood winter holiday season.

Join us for a fun trip down memory lane and laugh along with us while we uncover our funniest and cutest snaps.

It’s #ThrowbackThursday time!

First Guests - Meet the Global Recruitment Branding Copywriting Trio

Ramona Costea:

“Winter was all about waiting for Santa and, just to be clear, being a   kid on Christmas was awesome!!

In this picture I must have been around 6-years old, quite proud of   myself for impressing the ‘man’ himself!

You see, back then, Santa dropped by with presents two times: while at home and during the annual kindergarten festivities.

That’s when we were thrown a big party where we would put on our best looking outfits and waited for Santa to bring us gifts. For me, the event preparation was exhausting: I had to learn a poem by heart and recite it in front of Santa himself! The whole thing made me really nervous every time and somehow I always ended up mistaking the lyrics, and then fearing that Santa will get upset and ‘ban’ me off the Gift-list. Of course, that never happened…

Come to think about it I never ever questioned myself why ‘home Santa’ and ‘kindergarten Santa’ never seemed to be the same person…Oh, well.”

Alexa Anghel:

“My happiest memories always take me back to Germany, where I grew up till the age of five. Among the things I especially remember are the fairytale like winters and the Christmas markets, or how the Deutsch call it: Weinachtsmärkte.

For a child, seeing thousands of decorations, toys, wooden figurines, sweets, gingerbread houses, caramelized apples, lights decorating the city, all in the company of the most important people - my parents and uncle - was the genuine definition of happiness. Well, I guess my smile says it all.

This photo was taken by my dad after our first Christmas market and I was so excited!

I remember the joy I felt just by looking at this photo. It was the day I got as present Zonk - the red rat, my friend for many years to come. I named him after the mascot of my favorite TV show back then - Der Preis is Heiss aka The Price is Right.

No matter if I call it Crăciun (Christmas in Romanian), Christmas or Weinachten, this time of year will always symbolize true happiness and family love.”

Andreea Clair:

“I remember the day this picture was taken like it was yesterday: my family and friends gathered for Christmas to welcome Santa to our home. As soon as he arrived, we opened our gifts and took this picture.  Wondering what went through our mind when the photo was taken? By the way, I’m the cute princess in a blue sweater and tinsel crown on my head.

Mom: “I’ve been cooking all night for Santa’s favorite upside down cake. I think I left it too long in the oven...”

Grandfather: “Can’t wait to dig in that upside down cake!”

Grandmother: “Should I tell them I’ve already given half of the cake to the kids next door?”

My sister: “My gift is so cool! I’ve beaten Andreea this year!”

My kindergarten friend: “I wonder if there’s any candy inside this teddy bear. It sounds like candy!”

Her Mother: “I have to tell her there’s no candy in the teddy…”

Me: “So, where’s my gift, Santa?”

Santa: “I think I forgot Andreea’s gift in the sleigh…”

That's a wrap for this week!

See you next week, on the blog, to meet our talented Recruitment Branding Design Team: Andreea & Silviu!
