#Throwback Thursday – Winter Special: Meet the Design Team

Hello December! The most wonderful time of the year is almost here!

The Recruitment Branding Team is already getting into the cheerful winter holiday spirit. And because we love Throwback Thursday, we’ve challenged each team member to share a blast from the past that best reminds them of their childhood winter holiday season.

Join us for a fun trip down memory lane and laugh along with us while we uncover our funniest and cutest snaps.

It’s #ThrowbackThursday time!

Say Hello to Our Talented Design Duo: Silviu and Andreea

Silviu Mocanu:

“This picture takes me way back to my childhood, especially to the time around Christmas.

It is very dear to me because, as I was later told, it features my first time out of the House as a baby. Here I am next to my mom in one of the many trips we used to make to the hometown Amusement Park. One of the greatest park attractions was a famous wooden zebra and we never missed the chance to take a picture with it! Although my face doesn’t seem very at peace with what was happening, I was actually thrilled about everything!

To me, the whole thing was sort of a surreal experience! Like all children, I was purely mesmerized by the atmosphere, the lights and, let’s not forget, Santa’s ‘mandatory’ presence with toy bags.

Somehow, in the years to come I kept the tradition of visiting the local amusement park. I was no longer quite the target audience, but it was still fun.”

Andreea Dumuta:

“I must have been around 3 years old when I started my ‘career’ as a carol singer, with the help of my dad. I remember him carrying me on his arms and holding my brothers’ hands while going from one house to another in our small village to sing Carols that were easier for us to follow along. By that time, we didn’t even really understand their meaning, but what he really wanted for us was to experience the joy of Christmas.

Later on, I started ‘caroling’ with my best friend and really took the ‘job’ seriously. In the photo I was around 10 years old (I am the one with the red jacket) and we were at my friend’s house, joyfully singing. In my country, children that go singing carols carry a traditional Tote bag that is filled with nuts and apples as a sign of gratitude. You can spot our tote bags, which, at that point, were still quite empty as we were just about to head out.

As years went by, I started to care more about this tradition and became fascinated with learning and understanding carols, especially folklore inspired ones, which carry a lot of meaning and showcase timeless wisdom.

They bring my family together every single Christmas and I cannot wait for this to happen once again this year.”
