If you have never owned a home before, I highly recommend taking a first time home buyers Class. The class is sponsored through the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. This class will teach you everything you need to know about the home buying process, and it will also make you eligible for special programs, like zero down. After each class, you will be given a certificate that is good for two years.
You don't have to be a first time home buyer to be eligible for these special programs. However, you do need to attend the class.
I teach this class often, and I usually hold it at the Buckley library. We provide some food, and teach about the home buying process. Some of the lenders I work with have access to free credit repair. I will work with clients for 2 years getting them in the best position to purchase a home.
This class is held by many different real Estate Agents and lenders. You can go to the go to the WSHFC website and find a class near you.
Also note that because the class is sponsored through the WSHFC, and is attended to be for educational purposes only, real estate agents and lenders are not allowed to solicit business from anyone who attends the class.
