Comunity change through home Ownership.

Communities in the united states that are suffering with neglect and crime can be changed through home ownership. Most properties in these areas are investor owned where they are occupied by tenants.

Most of the time tenants and landlords dont have the same pride in the property/ comunity as a owner.
I believe in the buy back the block concept where you have homeowners in a particular neighborhood who can pull together to purchase the houses or buy them on their own.

Once bought you can re- gentrify the neighborhood. Those particular owners can establish programs by which they can help others become buyers. The process will turn the Community around.

The same group will also buy up the commercial buildings and employee there own people from the neighborhood. Eventually the group or co-op will be able to invest in larger properties providing businesses such as grocery stores.

This is not a new idea of reform but on which has followed history its the American Way.
