Social Service and Community Event Grant Opportunity from the City of Tigard

Are you a member of a registered non-profit organization providing services to our community?  Do you know of a Community event in need of funding?  Did you know that Tigard sets aside 0.5% of the operating Budget to fund social services and community events?  This year, that percentage is providing over $275,000 to 38 organizations and events in amounts ranging from $400 to $29,000.  Through this grant process the city has helped fund the City of Tigard Dog Park, Tigard Area Farmer’s Market, Balloon Festival, LifeWorks and Luke Dorf, to name a few examples.

Award of the funds is determined during the annual budget process.  A subcommittee of the Budget Committee meets to review Social Service requests and to recommend funding in the Approaved Budget.  Community Event requests are reviewed by the City Council.  The Adopted Budget presents the results of both reviews.  Once the budget is adopted in June, organizations will receive notification of their funding from the city.
