Passage Thru India @ Jalan Delima KL – A True Indian Experience.

This was a biryani-fic meal that I was seriously looking forward to having, and telling you about the entire week.

Trust me, your meal will not be complete without this. Passage Thru India's Chicken Dhum Biryani (Rm24) was excellent - completed with one whole juicy chicken thigh underneath and flavorsome grains of biryani rice on top.The Kashmiri Lollypops (Rm8) were juicy, fatty and caramelised with sweet and sour marinade. I wasn't huge on these chicken lollipops but my friend really enjoyed it.Introducing one of my favorite dishes of today's meal, Rogan Josh (Rm22). The curry, fused together by a blend of 16 herbs and spices, was not-at-all-fiery, and had hearty and bold flavors. The best part of it all - the juicy and tender mutton chunks. Another one please? The Palak Paneer (Rm16) could possibly be one of the healthiest Indian dishes around. Creamy spinach and cottage cheese cooked in a garlic flavored sauce. Best eaten together with Indian bread. We also sampled a serving of Murgh Tikka Butter Masala (Rm22) or Butter Chicken - boneless chicken roasted in a tandoori clay oven, then cooked in masala. The Tawa Masala (Rm24/each) went well together - grilled tiger prawns coated in a crisp masala batter. Having said that, I would've enjoyed the dish a little better if there were less batter. I had no qualms finishing this nevertheless. The Mixed Kebab (Rm45) to share came with 4 types of tandoori meats - chicken, mutton, fish and prawns. Unlike most kebab meats which tend to lean towards the drier side, these were surprisingly moist. Alternatively, you can also order the meats individually. My pick would be the Chicken Tikka. The Chef's Special came in the form of this 24-hour marinated, Grilled Juicy Lamb Ribs (Rm60). Despite being a tad gamey in terms of flavors, the meat was tasty and strip right off it's bone. The whiff of garlic from the Garlic Naan (Rm6) was unmistakable once this was placed in front of me. You must also try the sweet Kashmiri Naan (Rm8). It came stuffed with dried cherries and raisins. My first time having sweet naan and I loved it! Also in the basket, Butter Naan (Rm6) and Pratha (Rm6).I also sampled two sweet-inducing desserts. Kulfi (Rm9) - saffron and almond flavored Indian ice cream, and Gajar Ka Halwa (Rm7) - grated carrots simmered in fresh milk.Mango Lassi (Rm6.50). Jal Jeera (Rm5.50).
Overall Rating: 8/10. One of the things I truly enjoyed while dining at Passage Thru India that lovely afternoon, was the beautiful experience of dining amidst all the vintage charm and clutter, alongside deliciously prepared Indian food too of course. For dinner patrons, a live band plays from 8pm onwards. If I must pick my favorites - Chicken Dhum Biryani, Rogan Josh, Palak Paneer, Kashmiri Naan, Mixed Kebab Platter and the two desserts to share. If you're looking for a good Indian restaurant in the Klang Valley to dine at, Passage Thru Indian would not disappoint. On a side note, there's also a private banquet hall available for group bookings.
