As much as I love the idea of heading out into the wilderness and abandoning all technology, in reality, there's no chance I'd leave my smartphone behind. And while I have all manner of portable and fixed solar panels, if the weather isn't in your favor, as it frequently isn't here in the UK, they're not much use.
