Mazda is renowned in the car world for its Wankel Rotary Engine technology. Despite discontinuing its use in production cars in June 2012 when the RX-8 sports car was phased out, rotary technology has found new life for Mazda in the form of a range-extending generator used in its MX-30 electric vehicle.
