Before you enter, please read carefully these Terms & Conditions. Firstly, here are some definitions we use:

What is it?

eCG UK is running the Competition which invites Eligible Entrants to enter a prize draw during the Competition Period.

To enter, entrants will be required to share a photo of an item purchased on Gumtree on their Instagram profile using the hashtag #GotItOnGumtree in the caption and tagging @gumtreeuk in the image. Entrants are requested to not include any personal data (e.g. an image of themselves or others) in their picture. From all Valid Entries, one entry will be selected every month during the Competition Period (a total of 6 months) by a panel of judges that includes at least one independent judge. The winning entry is judged on a combination of (i) quality of imagery/video, humorous, emotive or inspirational quality of the story, and, (ii) assessed impact that Gumtree has made to the user’s story.

When is it?

The Competition will be held during the Competition Period. Any entries received outside of the Competition Period will not be considered. Valid Entries will be entered for the applicable month they are received by eCG UK.  

Who can enter?

The Competition is open only to Eligible Entrants.

An Eligible Entrant may submit more than one entry, up to a maximum of 5 entries per Eligible Entrant per month. Further entries will not be considered for other months during the Competition Period.

All employees (and their families) of eCG UK, its affiliates or subsidiary companies, any representatives or agents of those companies and anyone else who may be professionally involved with the Competition cannot enter the Competition.

The prize

One £100 B&Q voucher will be awarded to one Valid Entry selected by the judging panel (“Prize”) each month during the Competition Period.

The winner will be contacted via Instagram within 14 days from the end of the applicable month during the Competition Period to be informed they have won the Prize and to requested to provide the email address registered with eCG UK. Eligible Entrants are responsible for ensuring that they provide and can be contacted at their registered email address.

If eCG UK or its authorised agents are not able to contact the winner by midnight (UK time) 5 days after the first attempted notification, eCG UK reserves the right to select an alternative winner and the original winner’s entitlement will lapse.

What’s excluded?

The following will not be Valid Entries:

• Any entries which do not comply with eCG UK’s Terms of Use
• Any entries from a professional Gumtree account
• Any entries submitted through professional or automated tools, including but not limited to, API feeds

General

eCG UK, in its sole discretion, reserves the rights to:

• suspend, change or cancel the Competition at any time, in the event of circumstances arising which make it necessary for it to do so;
• add additional terms to the Competition;
• exclude users on the basis that it believes that they do not respect its Terms of Use or that their entries are not of the requisite standard; and/or
• verify the eligibility of entrants.

Any decision of eCG UK regarding any aspect of the Competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By entering the Competition, all entrants irrevocably grant eCG UK permission to use their name and image for advertising, promotional or publicity purposes.

These Terms & Conditions and the Competition are governed by English law. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the Terms of Use and these Terms & Conditions will prevail to the extent of any conflict.

This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Facebook or voucher supplier.

eCG UK shall not be liable, in contract or tort (including, but not limited to, negligence) or breach of statutory duty or in any other way for the loss or damage howsoever arising suffered by an entrant resulting directly or indirectly from entering the Competition. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall limit eCG UK’s liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

eCG UK does not accept, and is not responsible for, any lost or delayed entries. eCG UK reminds entrants of the nature and limitations of the Internet and is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any communications network, online system or computer hardware or software that may affect entry to the Competition.

Although eCG UK will use reasonable efforts to ensure that all information relating to the Competition (“Competition Material”) is accurate, eCG UK is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any communications network, online system or computer hardware or software failure that may affect eCG UK’s operation of the Competition or the site, including without limitation the accuracy of any Competition Material.

eCG UK may use third parties to facilitate one or more elements of the Competition and eCG UK may provide some of your personally identifiable information to them. These third party service providers are subject to confidentiality agreements with eCG UK and other legal restrictions that prohibit the use of the information we provide them for any other purpose except to facilitate the specific outsourced eCG UK related operation.
