It was my birthday recently, and what are birthdays for if not to try something new?
My cousin asked what I wanted as a gift so I said I wanted to try something different from Fenty Beauty (I have liked everything else I have tried from hem so far). She chose this lip paint for me – there is currently only ONE shade released and that is a very true universal (so they say) blue based red called “Uncensored”. I love the packaging although it does look like a nail polish:
I wondered if the fancy packaging would feel cheap but it doesn’t it feels really luxurious and heavy weight. It is supposed to be a red that goes with most skin tones and I think it does look nice on everyone I have seen it on so far.
The liquid dries to a matte long lasting finish – the applicator is a rounded end like this which doesn’t exactly make it easy to apply precisely since there’s no “Edge” on it but if you are wearing such a bold shade you might want to use a lip liner any way.
I found the texture to be a thin liquid one that dries fully after a few minutes. It spreads well, it is VERY VERY PIGMENTED. Now it dries matte but it isn’t a dead flat matte, it’s actually a pretty finish when all is said and done. Also I really have to say this is one of the most hydrating liquid lip colours I have ever tried. It never made my lips feel dry and the weather is quite harsh outside.
Here is a closer look at the shade. I am not a huge red wearer, I feel like my big lips makes it look a bit OTT! However, I am happy to have this is my permanent red since the shade is quite flattering.
