Colourpop Christmas Mini Haul! Ultra Metallic Lipgloss and Lippie Stix; Date Mate, Konichuwa, Cami, Hotline & Flitter

If you are in to beauty I am sure you would’ve heard of a US brand called Colourpop – they have tons of shades and interesting textures and the key is, everything is reasonably priced at around the $5-$10 mark.  My very dear friend once gifted my some Colourpop make up and I realised my favourite item of all is the Lippie Stix (super pigmented lipstick in a long stick form that are not drying).

On Black Friday, Colourpop offered free international shipping with no minimum order value! Score. So I made two orders to avoid customs fees and here is what I got:

I was trying to keep my orders under $20 each.

Rather than buying a bit of everything which is what I wanted to do, I decided to be sensible and stick with what I know I like! I find their liquid lipstick too drying unfortunately, but I really do adore the Lippie Stix formula.

Hello Kitty Lippie Stix – Date Mate and Konichuwa and one of the eyeshadows

Cami and Hotline (Matte x Formula)

Flitter Ultra Metallic Lip Gloss

Seriously, I would get one of every colour of these if given the chance (they are just $5 each!).  I chose 4 shades I knew I would definitely wear from hot pink, mauve, natural rose pink and a brown beige.

What I like so much about these is that they are:

1. Affordable

2. So pigmented

3. Creamy (if a creamy formula) but even some of the mattes feel creamy and aren’t drying (the MATTE X formula is SUPER matte and is a bit drier than the regular matte though and under these I prefer a bit of balm).

4. Pretty shades (and a HUGE shade choice)

5. Decent packaging (the lettering fades fast but the packaging holds up)

6. It stays put pretty well too

7. Makes the lips look nice and healthy!

Swatches:

This is the Ultra Metallic Lip which was just a random, ‘I’ll give this a go’ purchase for $6. I have a think for golden light pinks.

When I swatched this, I was like, oh noooo. Some metallic. So light. So frosty.

Also let’s talk about the weird texture. It’s like a cream but in a tube. It’s not that liquid, it’s not thick either, it just really remind me of a face cream but a thick one.

HOWEVERRRRR. I started using this on top of other colours and also in the middle of the lips – it’s FABULOUS. It looks funky but pretty at the same time.  I don’t know how I feel about other metallic shades but I do really like this one.

Finally I bought one eyeshadow only from the Hello Kitty collection called Friendship File (a metallic soft pink).  I was quite underwhelmed by it – I guess I wanted more pinkness perhaps but it’s quite a light sheen. It has a soft texture almost like a mousse so you must put the lid back on.

Swatches:

Ok – look at all my swatches!

The Ultra Metallic Lip – remember I do NOT like this alone at all.  But on to of a matte or semi matte lipstick, it’s gorgeous.

Date Mate:

Konichuwa (sorry if I spelt this wrong) – this is a creme formula hence the slight shine:

Cami:

Finally Hotline.  This was definitely one of the drier ones.

And that’s it! If they were to offer free international shipping again with any value order I would definitely buy more colours, perhaps be more experimental next time!

Do you like Colourpop?

I bought them from their official site.
