Back on the Store Shelves: The Pretenders’ Latest Album, “Alone,” Arrives Today

BMGThe Pretenders' new Studio Album, Alone, hit stores today. Frontwoman Chrissie Hynde collaborated on the project with Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach, who produced and played a variety of instruments on the record.

Alone was recorded at Auerbach's Easy Eye Studio in Nashville, and features contributions from members of his side group The Arcs, as well as a variety of respected local studio musicians, including former Johnny Cash bassist Dave Roe. In addition, influential rockabilly guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Duane Eddy is featured on a song called "Never Be Together."

When Hynde started work on Alone, she initially intended to release it as the follow-up to her 2014 debut solo album, Stockholm, but eventually concluded that the songs seemed more in tune with the music of The Pretenders and decided to put it out under the band's moniker.

The Pretenders recently released a video for Alone's lead track, "Holy Commotion," which you can check out at the band's official VEVO YouTube channel.

Hynde and her latest version of The Pretenders will be supporting Alone on a new joint North American tour with Stevie Nicks, which gets underway this Tuesday in Phoenix and runs through a December 18 concert in Inglewood, California. The band will be playing a number of headlining dates during select off days on the trek. Check out the group's full itinerary at
