Watch New Video for ZZ Top and Jeff Beck’s Recently Released Live Performance of “Sixteen Tons”

Credits: Ross HalfinZZ Top has released an official video for their live rendition of Tennessee Ernie Ford's 1955 hit "Sixteen Tons," which also features Jeff Beck and appears on the Texas trio's latest album, Live! Greatest Hits from Around the World. The performance was recorded at a June 2015 concert at the SSE Arena in London.

The video recreates the joint performance by intercutting film of ZZ Top and Beck playing at separate shows. The clip also gives a nod to the tune's lyrics by including archival black-and-white footage of various construction workers, bridge builders and factory workers.

Interestingly, the official video pays homage to a hoax clip that debuted online in 2012 that purported to show ZZ Top and Beck performing "Sixteen Tons" live, but in actuality featured 2009 footage of the famed rockers playing a different song that was synched to a version of "Sixteen Tons" recorded by unidentified musicians. The doctored video actually inspired ZZ Top and Beck to work up a cover of the tune that they played together numerous times during their joint tour dates in 2014 and 2015.

Live! Greatest Hits from Around the World is ZZ Top first official full-length live album, and features 15 performances recorded in various cities in North America, South America and Europe during the last 11 years.
