Congrats to the Cascade Middle School Orchestra, which achieved a historic feat at last month’s regional competition, earning the highest rating of “Superior.”

This marks the first time in the school’s history that the orchestra has received such an honor.

Formed in 2018, the school’s orchestra program has quickly become a leader in music education within the Highline Public Schools district. Under the guidance of dedicated Teacher Sarah Butler, students are not only participating in music but excelling and inspiring the community.

“A standing ovation to our young musicians, the community, and our dedicated orchestra teacher Sarah Butler for creating a legacy of excellence,” the district said.

The orchestra’s success is a significant milestone for the string music program in White Center, which had been absent for several decades.
