Two White Center area establishments closed by Public Health – Seattle & King County

This week, Public Health – Seattle & King County closed two White Center area food establishments, one for operating without a permit and the other for a rodent infestation.

  • Tacos de Canasta at 10426 16th Ave SW, Seattle (White Center), WA 98146
    Closed: February 6, 2024 at 1 p.m.
    Reasons: Unpermitted food vendor
    Status: Closed
  • La Tipica Oaxaquena at 1601 SW Roxbury St, Seattle (White Center), WA 98106
    Closed: February 6, 2024 at 6 p.m.
    Reasons: Imminent health hazard: Rodent infestation
    Operating in an unapproved manner with insufficient equipment
    Prohibited live animals present
    Status: Closed

“Reasons for closing an establishment may be due to food code violations and failure to follow the permitting process,” Public Health says on its website. “Depending on the type of closure, additional information may include the date the facility was shut down, whether the establishment has reopened, the date it reopened, and additional notes.”

Information for restaurants Closed by Public Health will remain online for a minimum of 7 days after the establishment is reopened.
