All are invited to join Dirt Corps and Green Seattle Partnership for a special volunteer restoration celebration of World Soil Day at Westcrest Park (map below) this Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Volunteers will be be giving a nice “mulch blanket” to recent plantings (thank you for all of your help with that) as well as doing some light invasive plant removal.
Join Dirt Corps for our last Westcrest Park restoration event of the year! We’ll be learning about and celebrating the importance of soils and soil health in our environment while taking care of our new plantings and the soil they’re in!

What to Bring
Please bring with you what you will need to be comfortable whilst spending a few hours working outside. Dress in clothed layers for the weather, and consider bringing additional dry, insulating, or waterproof layers.
Remember to bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, or any other accessories to protect yourself from the elements.
Remember that blackberry thorns are sharp and can snag clothing, and that the terrain may be uneven and/or wet.
We will be providing gloves and tools for all to use!
