The Mount Rainier Pool project is in its final stages, with plans to re-open sometime in March.

The District’s closure project was originally to replace the pool shell, but critical repairs were detected and have extended the closure. Items identified include holes in a sewer pipe, a heat exchanger leak and replacing the main drain and supply line piping. These projects are related to the age of the 42-year old pool and are required before reopening.

“Our staff is utilizing this time to improve your experience including a deep clean of the facility, implementation of online registration, and installing keychain pass fobs to speed up access,” District GM Scott Deschenes said.

HIRING LIFEGUARDS
Also, the District is in the process of training and Hiring Lifeguards. If you are interested in finding a flexible job for your child or yourself, please visit www.mtrainierpool.com/employment. Training fees will be waived for applicants WHO are willing to commit to a year of employment.
