Small fire causes evacuation of building at Highline College Monday morning

On Monday morning, Jan. 29, Highline College’s Building 22 was evacuated due to a small fire.

“Stay away from this area and follow all instructions given by Public Safety officers,” an emergency alert read.

Building 22 – located in the south part of campus – houses several classrooms, and will Remain Closed for at least an hour.

No word yet on the cause of the Fire, or if there were any injuries, or the extent of any damages.

An ‘All Clear’ was released at around 12:20 p.m.:

ALL CLEAR

The emergency condition is over.

First responders are on scene, however building 22 will remain closed for at least one hour.

Please avoid the area and listen to the Public Safety Officers.

We will notify you when the building has reopened for classes.
