Cheer on Obliteriders at ‘Orange Tunnel’ in Three Tree Point on Sun., Aug. 14

From our friends at WABI Burien:

On Sunday morning, Aug. 14, about 150 Obliteride cyclists will ride through Normandy Park and Burien on Day 2 of their 150-mile bike ride to raise money for cancer research at Fred Hutch.

Last year, cyclists commented that “Burien is the most enthusiastic city along the whole route!”

Get Your Orange On
This year we’re going to double our efforts and create a veritable Three Tree Point Obliteride Orange Tunnel. The cyclists will be surrounded by orange applause and smiling faces as they ride through the Three Tree Point waterfront neighborhood before they head up Maplewild.

WABI Burien is organizing local folks to cheer the riders on. Come join the cheering crowd at Three Tree Point anytime between 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. to applaud the riders as they go by. The street will be festooned with banners, pennants and signs. Bring cow bells, pom poms, noisemakers and all-things-orange to make Burien the most memorable city on the route.

You can also cheer anywhere along the route.

Check out the map, which shows the Day 2 route, from Tacoma to Seattle, including Redondo, Des Moines, Normandy Park and White Center:

Since this is, after all, a fundraiser, you may, of course, make a monetary donation toward cancer research at Fred Hutch:

Please let other neighbors and friends know about the ride on Sunday the 14th.
I hope you’ll consider joining the cheering crowd in support of cancer research.
Far too many of us have had our lives jarred by cancer.
