PHOTOS: Cargo ship Zhen Hua 28 passes by Burien with an unusual load

A large cargo ship called the Zhen Hua 28 passed Burien’s shores slowly but surely on Friday afternoon, Feb. 23, all while hauling a very unusual load.

The Hong Kong-flagged ship had four huge cranes welded to is frame bound for the Port of Tacoma’s Husky Terminal. The cranes are 295 tall, and are designed to unload the next generation of container ships. When the booms are raised, the cranes rise up to 434 feet tall.

Sadly, there was sun before it passed Burien, but as it got closer, snow flurries obscured a good view, particularly as the ship neared Three Tree Point.
