The Burien Police Department congratulates these eight Burien Explorers who completed the 2017 Washington Law Enforcement Explorer Winter Academy in Yakima:

Burien P.D. says that all endured six days of physical training, firearms training, basic and advance patrol procedures and criminal law. Each day they were tested and took part in numerous graded mock scenes.
Of the nearly 200 explorers that participated in the Academy, Colin Voynick took 1st place in physical fitness in the Basic Academy, Robert Turner took 2nd place in overall academics in the Advanced Academy and Josie Palmer lead her platoon to win 12 awards ribbons, the most a platoon has ever won in a single academy.
