Volunteers get a FREE lunch at Miller Creek Trail work party on Sat., Aug. 26

FREE VOLUNTEER LUNCHES will be given away at a Miller Creek Trail Work Party in Burien on Saturday, Aug. 26:

Volunteers have been working to restore this site along the Miller Creek Trail in Burien since 2007. Join us to plant native trees and shrubs to make a healthy buffer, so our salmon have cool and clean water!

No experience is necessary, and lunch, refreshments, gloves, and tools are provided! Please RSVP to help us plan ahead! (see below for instructions).

WHEN: Saturday, August 26, 2017, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

WHAT: We will remove invasive weeds like blackberry and ivy. We may plant native trees if time allows. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

WHERE: Park at the trail parking lot along Des Moines Memorial Drive just south of S. 144th St. in Burien. Walk west along the Miller Creek Trail, cross S 144th Way, and look for us next to the S 144th St Miller Creek Trail on the right.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This park does not have a restroom – please plan ahead.

What to bring:

  • Clothing that will protect you from the cold, rain, and blackberry thorns (and that you don’t mind getting dirty)
  • Filled water bottle
  • We provide lunch, refreshments, gloves, tools, and training.

RSVP and Questions: Email or call Mary Eidmann, [email protected], 206-248-5511.
