Lucknow: Amidst the ongoing controversy over the Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) held an important meeting and decided to Provide Legal Aid to the management of the mosque.

According to a source, since the matter is being heard by the court, the legal team of the board will provide all necessary assistance, including expert advice, to the Muslim side.

The Supreme Court directed the Varanasi District Magistrate to ensure the security of the area inside the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri complex, where a Shivling is found in a videography survey and Muslims are allowed to offer prayers.

"We will go through the cases discussed and presented in the court, and our legal team will provide help to the Muslim side," IANS reported. Also, we will try to reach out to people with facts through pamphlets, books etc so that people are not misled."

"We would like to know the stand of the central government as well as other political parties on the Places of Worship Act, 1991," the source said.

The AIMPLB also condemned the sealing of the pond (Wuzu Khana) in the Gyanvapi mosque complex and said that "the mosque will remain a mosque till the end."

AIMPLB general secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani said, "Gyanvapi is a mosque and will remain a mosque. The attempt to convert it into a Temple is nothing more than a conspiracy by communal forces to spread hatred."

The Management Committee of Anjuman Intejamiya Masjid (which manages the affairs of the Gyanvapi Masjid, which has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the survey) has stated that Gyanvapi has been a mosque since time immemorial and "overseen by the Places of Worship Act, 1991". clearly obstructed".
